Across three chapters, we delve into the lives of those who wear Henne daily - individuals whose personal and professional worlds reflect the quiet power of denim. In the following chapters, we spotlight the extend Henne community - from creatives shaping culture ot the Female Founders defining their industries - each offering a unique perspective on denim as an everyday essential.

How does the Henne denim collection reflect your personal styles?

Denim has always played a big part in each of our wardrobes — it’s that timeless piece that anchors our style and evolves with us. 

We are all incredibly passionate about denim, and that personal connection is what makes our denim collection so special. We’ve designed fits that speak to each of our personal style, but also a range of individual styles.

That’s the beauty of denim — it’s universally loved, yet worn in completely unique ways. Our core styles like the Gisella, with its relaxed, oversised silhouette, and the Valentina, which offers a more classic, polished fit, were the foundation of our collection. 

Since then, we’ve expanded into new washes and more statement shapes that suit our day when we are in the office but also out for any occasion. 

Which Henne Denim Jean is on highest rotation in your current wardrobe?

It would have to be the Valentina jeans - I can see why so many of our customers also love them as they are such a versatile jean from day to night. They are a classic high waist, straight leg - but there is almost the perfect amount of room in the hips so they are very flattering on a wide range of body types.

How does the Henne denim collection reflect each of your personal styles?

We’re all completely denim obsessed it’s something we wear pretty much every single day. Over time, we’ve built the range out to suit our different styles and busy lifestyles, there’s truly something for everyone now.

In your eyes, what makes the perfect denim piece?

Fit, colour and most importantly how you feel when you wear it. The right pair should feel like you

As a busy mum and director of Henne, how does denim play a part in supporting your busy lifestyle? 

 Denim is my everyday go-to, especially on those hectic mornings when I don’t have time to think. It’s reliable, easy, and works with everything—from throwing on a blazer for meetings to pairing it with a bomber for a weekend look. I live in my denim.

When designing each denim piece, what components are most important to you? 
Definitely understanding the fit and feel we are trying to achieve is a starting point. From here it  allows us to source the right base cloth whilst nominating the wash we envision for the style.

Other elements I’m proud to call out that define each Henne denim piece are the signature  trims/hardware on each style - the branded rivets, to the stitch detail back pocket and our Henne leather patch that sits on the back waistband. Details that make a Henne piece uniquely Henne ! 

How do you each look after your denim? (Wash, wear, store — we want to know it all.)

Haha, don’t judge but depending on the style I will sometimes hold off on washing as I love the way they wear in . Styles like my Valentina light wash and Gisella black wash I prefer to hold out as long as I can before they make it to the spin cycle ! I  love the way they relax out , distress at the hemlines and look more worn-in. When I’m wearing my Rory, I’m probably washing this more with the slight elastane through it , I prefer how the dryer pulls them back in for a more fitted fit on the body!!

Overall , we recommend to hold out on washing denim too frequently - and when you do, always inside out on a cold wash and stored folded is the hot tip !

What’s your design philosophy when it comes to crafting great denim?
It starts with the right fabric; quality fabrication and trims are essential for durability. A great wash can also completely transform denim and bring new life to a classic silhouette and makes it modern. Ultimately, I believe the most important factor is fit. How denim fits dictates how you feel in it, and that’s the most important thing.  

How do you balance contemporary influence and timelessness in your denim designs?
Timelessness is a foundational part of the Henne design philosophy. We aim to deliver classic styles our customer can always rely on, while also offering new styles, whether that’s new washes on a core silhouette, fresh shapes, or innovative fabrications that evolve with their lifestyle. It’s about blending longevity with just the right touch of modernity, so the pieces feel both current and timeless.

Tell us a memory where denim played a part.

Denim is synonymous with memory, it is a fabrication where every faded hue or abrasion embodies the wearer’s experience. My memory is not of my own pair, but of the blue wash jeans my parents wore throughout my early upbringing. The softness and drape of the fabric, the fading patches and patterns which mirrored their movements. I always reflect on this hue with fondness, warmth and joy for my family.

How do you each see your personal style coming through in the Henne denim collection?

Henne denim is foundational to my personal style. It’s grounding and comforting on days I need a uniform and the perfect canvas for elevation when I have an occasion. They are pieces of clothing which express so much character over time, it is this richness of colour and texture that I find so much joy styling and wearing.

How do you look after your denim? (Wash, wear, store — we want to know it all).

- Turn Inside Out: Always turn my jeans out to reduce fading.

- Cold Water: Use cold water to prevent shrinking and color loss.

- Gentle Cycle: Select a gentle or delicate cycle to reduce stress on the fabric.

- Mild Detergent: Use a detergent without bleach to protect the color.

- Avoid Fabric Softener: It can break down the fibres.

Which Henne denim style tends to work on everyone who tries it?

The Filomena is my best-selling especially for customers who are shorter or petite. While many come in specifically requesting the Valentina, if they’re unsure about the fit or style, I always recommend they try the Filamena. I’m confident they’ll love it—and more often than not, they leave with a pair. The barrel-leg silhouette is flattering on the body, featuring a classic high-waist design that typically requires no hemming or alterations.
