Job Summary


We are looking for a Product Developer Assistant to join our fast-growing Henne team!


The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and support the Product Director in ensuring the successful product development and production process for on-time deliveries.



Key Success Measures / Key Performance Indicators:  

Achievement of sales targets, on time deliveries, product FM% and GP%



Core Responsibilities   

Area 1:   Ranging and Sampling


  • Assisting in establishing seasonal ranges and colour palette direction
  • Creating and updating all technical specification pages for product handover
  • Creating all individual tech packs to contain all garment information and approvals for future reference
  • Managing and updating all buy sheets, SKU names and ASANA administration
  • Managing production timeframes as well as sampling approval process and comments to suppliers/ fit timelines

·       Managing and tracking the sample and production process to ensure on time  delivery (fit samples and marketing samples)

  • Supporting the creative team throughout the process to ensure on time and high quality delivery of garments


Area 2: Quality Assurance and Fit Process

  • Taking ownership of styles from initial handover to PPS sign off through to freight forwarder handover
  • Managing timely approvals of lab dips, strikes offs, product approvals with the suppliers
  • Liaising with off-shore factories regarding all stages of development and production
  • Escalation of any factory concerns
  • Managing bulk fabric approvals
  • Managing FOB product costings and assist with achieving margin targets while elevating and maintaining quality standards
  • Assisting with all aspects of QA management
  • Problem solving production issues with off shore suppliers as they arise


Area 3:  Order Procurement and Product deliveries


·       Liaising with suppliers to collate and negotiate cost prices & fabrication information

·       Raising POs using Cin7 in a timely manner to ensure on time delivery and issue relevant barcodes to each supplier

·       Managing and tracking all bulk production ex-factory dates to ensure on time delivery for each launch drop (for example managing relevant freight forwarder delivery bookings)

Area 4:  Critical Path and Logistics

·       Ensuring critical path is followed

·       Ensuring regular communication with suppliers to ensure on time deliveries

·       Managing all freight forwarder bookings directly with logistics company to ensure smooth handover and timely delivery of goods into Melbourne warehouse

Area 5: Product faults and Claims


·       Work in conjunction with Customer Care team to manage any returns or faulty products and issue claims directly with the suppliers

·       Conduct ad hoc product inspections at warehouse to ensure correct packaging and spot check product arrival condition with the QA contractor



Desired Skills, Qualifications + Experience

·       Fashion forward and trend focused

·       Previous experience working in a production role is highly desirable

·       Qualification in Fashion and Textiles is also highly advantageous  

·       Proactive, motivated and enjoy working in a dynamic environment

·       Work under pressure and take directions well

·       Must have high attention to detail

·       Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

·       Exceptional relationship building skills and ability to maintain strong relationships

·       Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders

·       A collaborative team member

·       Ideally have well developed negotiation skills

·       Be ethically minded
