Through Alice's Lens

Alice Wang's Paris Guide

Meet Alice Wang - stylist, creative, and Paris local. For Alice, the city is more than a backdrop; it’s a creative rhythm. In conversation with Henne, she shares her daily rituals, must-visit destinations, and the timeless spaces that shape her style.

Tell us a bit about yourself, how did you find yourself living in Paris?

I grew up between Norway, China, and the U.S., so I’ve always been drawn to cities where cultures meet. Paris is one of the cities I returned to most for work; it felt inevitable in a way. It offers the creative energy I wanted to be closer to, while also giving me the change of scenery I was ready for. The timing aligned with both my career and my personal life, and now 7 months in, coming to Paris seems almost fated.

What does a typical day in the city look like for you?

My days are never the same, but they always begin with thirty minutes of silence, journaling, and a moment to map out my tasks before moving into the day. Depending on the projects, I might be working on mood boards, running between showrooms, on set, or creating content for myself. There are also events and dinners; the social side of my work is very much part of it too. The duality of being a stylist and a content creator can often bring chaos, so having non negotiables like my morning ritual and movement anchor me and bring balance to the pace.

What are your top 3 must-visit spots in Paris?

1. Le Bon Marché Food Hall The endless selection of fresh produce and specialty foods is overwhelming in the best possible way. I would lose myself in there for hours every time I went grocery shopping.

2. Galignani Library it’s the oldest English language bookshop in Europe. The space is beautiful with its towering wooden bookshelves, and not to mention its incredible selection of books.

3. Chez George - A Parisian classic near the Louvre with beautiful interiors, vintage mirrors and an atmosphere that feels quintessentially French. The food is always incredible, and I especially love sitting outside on the terrace.

Where do you go to recharge or find inspiration in the city?

For me, inspiration often comes in the unexpected conversations I have. Hearing how other people live, think, and create often sparks something that later becomes part of my own process. Recharging, on the other hand, is harder in Paris. What works for me is slowing down; doing nothing for a couple of days and getting back into my routine. With so much travel and constant stimuli, the simplest rituals are often the most restorative.

How does Paris shape your style, especially in timeless places like Palais Royale?

Growing up in Scandinavia, my style was deeply shaped by minimalism: monochrome palettes, clean silhouettes, and a “less is more” approach that has become a part of my DNA. Moving to Paris shifted that perspective. I realized that timelessness isn’t defined by sticking to neutral colors or repeating the same cuts; it’s about letting your individuality quietly speak. Paris has let me explore more of my bohemian side, and this duality feels more authentic to me.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give someone starting a creative career in Paris?

Don’t rush. Paris teaches you patience, things will unfold in layers with time. Build relationships slowly and stay curious. It’s not about chasing every opportunity, but about choosing the right ones and creating with intention.

Your favourite pieces from Henne’s new collection?

Definitely the denim set I wore. The fit is perfect, which is so rare to find in both a jacket and pants together. I find it extremely chic and effortless, and felt amazing and empowered wearing it.
